Kerala Rice Murukku

Rice Murukku Recipe

1.coconut scraped-half of a coconut(use only the white portion-no brown peera)

Garlic-4(Chinese one)/8(Indian one)

Shallots-5

Grind together with enough water to a smooth paste.heat this till it boils & add to the heated rice & Uraddal mixture.

Note:Today I didn’t boil the coconut mixture,just added hot water to it and then added to the rice-dal mixture.

2.Rice pwdr-1 3/4 cups

Heat this till lightly hot & on medium heat so that it doesn't change color.

3.Uraddal pwdr-1/2 cup

( take about 1 cup urad dal & dry roast it & pwdr it)

Add to the above & heat for about 2 minutes.remove from fire .add salt to taste .add boiled coconut paste & enough boiling water to make the batter. it should be soft one.

4.Cumin-2 tsp

Sesame seeds(black)-2 tsp

Add the above to the mixture & knead to a soft batter.fill the mixture in idiyappam presser with star nosil & make murukku shape on a tray/ plate.meanwhile heat oil in a cheenachatti & fry the murukku till done.
