Kadala Thoran
1.kadala(black chickpeas)-3/4 cup
Soak this in enough water for 6 hrs or overnight.pressure cook this with the water for 1 whistle.Remember not to add any salt to this while cooking.If u cook with salt the Kadala will harden & will take almost 1/2 an hour to cook.
2.oil-1 tbsp
Mustard seeds-1 tsp
Onion-1
Garlic-5-6
Curry leaves-1 sprig
Heat a cheenachatti.Splutter the mustard in oil
Add the chopped remaining ingredients & Saute for a minute or two.
3.chilli powder-1 1/2tsp
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Corriander powder-1 tsp
Pepper powder-1/2 tsp
Garamasala -1/2 tsp
Add the above masalas & Saute for a minute.now add little water left in the cooked Kadala and cook till oil seperates. Add the remaining water and cook till almost all water dries.
4.coconut scraped-1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Add the scraped coconut & the cooked kadala and salt & cook till well blended.
