Upmav
1.Rava-2 cups
Dry Roast the Rava for a few minutes until heated through and not browned .
2.Onion-1 big
Ginger-a small piece
Green Chilli-3-5
Curry leaves-a sprig
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Urad /Mansoor Dal-1 tsp
Dry Red Chillies-2
Peanuts-1/4 cup(optional)
Splutter the mustard in a tbsp of oil.Add the Dal & Fry till lightly browned.Now add the red chillies and peanuts if you are using and fry.Remove the peanuts and set aside to garnish.Now Add all the above ingredients chopped and sauté.
3.Coconut grated-1/4 cup(optional)
Carrot-1 grated
(U can add any vegetable which your family likes.)
Water-2 cups
Salt to taste
Lime juice-1 tsp
Now add all the above ingredients to it and cover with a lid and cook till the water boils.Remove lid ,Reduce flame and add the Rava and mix in and cover & cook till all the water dries up. Garnish with set aside peanuts.The Rava upmav is ready to serve.
U can sprinkle some sugar over the upmav and eat or mash a banana and mix together and eat.
Note: I usually don’t add the coconut grated & peanuts as my family doesn’t want it in the upmav.
