Scotch Eggs 🍳
For Beef Cutlets mix
1.Onion-2
Garlic-1 pod
Ginger-1" piece
Green chillies-8 to 10
Curry leaves-2 sprigs
Chop all the above ingredients & sauté in 2 tbsp oil.
2. Turmeric pwdr-1/2 tsp
Minced Beef-1/2 kg
Salt to taste
Add turmeric pwdr & then the minced beef & salt.cook till almost all the water dries up.
3.carrot-1(chopped)
Pepper pwdr-2 tsp
Garam masala-1 1/2 tsp
Add the carrots & the masalas & cook till done.Adjust seasonings & set this aside to cool.
4.Boiled Eggs-8-10
I used Quail Eggs today.
Deshell the eggs and wash and set it aside.
5.potatoes-1 big or 2 small
Wash the potatoes & cut into 4 (with skin on).in a pressure cooker add 1/4 cup water & add the potatoes & cook for 1-2 whistles.
Mash the cooked potatoes & add to the cooked cutlet mixture .mix thoroughly & make balls & flatten them in your palms & place an egg and shape them either into circle or oval shapes.
6.egg-1
Water-1 tbsp
Bread crumbs-as reqd.
Beat the eggs with water & dip the balls in it & coat them with bread crumbs.do this until ur last piece is done.Your Scotch Eggs are ready to be fried.
Heat enough oil in a cheenachatti (cutlets shud sink in oil) & fry them in batches till golden. Slice the slightly cooled scotch eggs into half and Serve with tomato ketchup /onion & tomato salad.
