Ragi Idiyappams/Ragi Noolputtu/Ragi String Hoppers
Recipe
1.Ragi flour-1 cup.
Rice Flour- 1/2 cup
salt to taste
coconut oil-1tsp
Boiling water as required
Roast the flours in a Kadai until nice aroma comes.Remove to a big steel bowl both the flours,salt & oil.Add enough boiling water to make a dough.The dough should make a large ball.Cover and set aside for 10 minutes.
2.Coconut-1/4cup (optional)
Lightly grease the idli moulds with coconut oil.Place 1/2 tsp of the coconut,if you are using,onto the center of the greased idli moulds.Now put some dough into the string hopper maker & press it onto the moulds.Now steam this in an appachambu or steamer.
Once steamed,remove and repeat with the remaining dough till all the dough is used up.Your Ragi
string hoppers are ready to serve with some egg curry or sweetened coconut milk.
