Prawns Wontons


Prawns Wontons (yields 18 no.’s)

For the Wonton wraps

1.All purpose flour-3/4 cup

Wheat flour-2 tbsps

Oil-1 tsp

Salt-a pinch

Water as required

In a bowl mix together the flours and salt.Add water and make a dough.Add oil and knead for a few minutes.Cover and set aside for 30 minutes.Meanwhile make the fillings.

For the Prawns fillings

2.Prawns-20 big

Turmeric powder-a pinch

Chilli powder-1/4 tsp

Pepper powder-1/2 tsp

Sugar-1/4 tsp

Salt to taste

Onion-2 tbsps (chopped)

Ginger grated-1 tsp

Soya Sauce-1 tsp

Chilli garlic sauce-1 tsp

Cornflour -1-2 tbsps

Mince the cleaned prawns with a knife.Add in all the above ingredients except cornflour and mix together till well blended.Add in the cornflour and stir in.Prawns fillings is ready.

Now divide the dough into small balls and roll it into small thin rounds.Fill in a tbsp of the prawns fillings to one half of the wonton sheets.Apply water to the edges of the wonton sheets and close in with the other half,sealing it off without any air.Seal the edges with a fork and then bring the two corners together and apply some water and press to seal.

Or you can keep the fillings at the center of the wonton sheets and bring all the edges together and twist the top to make a zingy parcel.Repeat with the remaining sheets till all the wraps are filled.

Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the wontons on medium heat till browned and crispy.For a healthier option u can cook this in boiling water for 3-4 minutes and remove.Prawns wontons are ready to serve with some tomato ketchups.
