Coimbatore Murukku/Pottukadala Murukku


Pottukadala Podi-1 cup

Rice powder-3 cup

Sesame seeds-1 tbsp

Salt to taste

Boiling water as required


Combine the rice and Pottukadala powders .Add the salt and sesame seeds. Add hot water and mix with a spoon.U should be able to form a big dough .

Divide the dough into medium logs so that it fits in your Murukku maker.Put the star nozzle into your hopper maker and start making Murukku on a plate.meanwhile heat a cheenachatti with enough oil to deep fry the Murukku.

Once the oil is hot drop in 6-8 Murukku 's depending on the size of your cheenachatti.meanwhile make another set of Murukku on the plate while the first batch gets frying.after few minutes turn the Murukku with a ladle so that it gets cooked on the other side too.U can often turn it so that it is evenly cooked.Drain the fried Murukku on tissues.once cooled store in containers

store in airtight containers.
