Kerala Style Ammini Kozhukatta with Mulaku Chammanthi
1.Rice flour-3/4 cup
Salt to taste
Boiling water as required
Coconut grated-1/2 -3/4cup (ur choice)
In a steel bowl put the rice powder and salt.Add boiling water to this and make a sticky dough.Now add the grated coconut to this and mix in.Now lightly grease ur palms with coconut oil.Shape the dough into small balls and place them in a steamer and cook for 10 minutes or until done.Serve with Mulaku Chammanthi.
Note :For a sweet version add some sugar with the coconut and mix with the dough and make balls and steam.
2.Mulaku Chammanthi
Shallots-10-15
Crushed Red Chilli flakes-2 tbsp (or 6-7 whole dry red chilly roastEd on flame)
Salt to taste
Coconut oil-1-2 tsp
Water-3-5 tsp
Crush the shallots along with Chilli flakes and salt.Remove into a bowl and add water & coconut oil.Mulaku Chammanthi for Kozhukattai is ready
Note:If you are using whole dry red chilIes just roast them on direct flams from th gas stove and crus it in the mixie.
