Chakka Bajji
1.Raw jackfruit-1 cup
I used thick top & bottom pieces sliced off from jackfruit ,after making the chips for this.
2.Gram Flour-3/4 cup
Rice powder-2 tbsps
Asafoetida-2 pinches
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder-a pinch
Chilli powder-1/2-3/4 tsp(adjust according to your spice level)
Water as required
In a bowl mix together all the above ingredients and add water to make a thick batter.Add in the chakka/jackfruit pieces and stir in.
Heat oil in a kadai and drop a spoonful of batter into it and fry till browned.Remove and drain on tissues.Chakka Bajji is ready to serve with some ketchup or chutney.
