Irachi/Beef Thoran
1.Beef (cooked)-1/2 cup
Pulse this 2-3 times so that it’s crushed through.
2.Coconut oil-1 tbsp
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Fennel seeds-1/4 tsp
Heat oil and splutter mustard and fennel seeds.
3.Shallots-5-6
Ginger-1/4 “ piece
Garlic-3-4
Green chillies-3
Curry leaves-1 sprig
Crush this and add to the above and sauté.
3.Turmeric-1/4 tsp
Chilli flakes-3/4-1 tsp
Garam masala-1/4 tsp
Add all the above ingredients and sauté.
4.Fennel seeds-1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds-a pinch
Whole pepper-5-6
Green chillies-2
Curry leaves-3-4
Coconut scraped-3/4-1 cup
Vinegar-1 tsp
Grind the fennel,cumin and pepper.Add the remaining ingredients except vinegar and pulse it 2-3 times till crushed.
Now add this crushed ingredients along with beef crushed and some water/stocks and vinegar and cover and cook on medium heat till the mixture is dried.Irachi Thoran is ready.
Note:I didn’t add the vinegar mentioned as I cooked the beef with vinegar, salt and little chilli & turmeric powder and used the stock instead of water.
