Ethakka/Raw Banana Vada
1.Raw Banana (Ethakka)-1
Cut the Ethakka into 2-3 pieces and cook this in a pressure cooker by adding 1 cup water for two whistles.
Once cooled remove the Kaya and discard the outer covers and crush it with a fork and set aside.
2.Onion-1
Garlic-2 big ones
Ginger-1/2 “ piece
Green chilies-4
Dry Red chilies-2
Curry leaves-a sprig
Fennel seeds-1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds-1/4 tsp
Coconut grated-1/4 cup
Salt to taste
Cut into medium pieces the onion, garlic,ginger and green chilies and put it into the small jar of the mixie .Add all the remaining ingredients and the set aside cooked Ethakka and pulse this for a few seconds until just crushed (and not smashed).
Apply some oil to your palms and shape the mixture into Vadas and deep fry it in hot oil .Ethakka Vada is ready to Serve with some hot coffee.
