Homemade Bean Patty Burger 🍔
1.Black Eyed Beans(Lobia)-1/2 cup
Soak the bean’s overnight and cook by adding 1 cup water in a pressure cooker for 2 whistles or till done.Once cooled,mash it.
2.Boiled Potato-1
Green Peas-1/2 cup
Sweet Corn-1/2 cup
Bread crumbs-2-3 tbsps
Coriander leaves-1/4 cup
I used frozen green peas and corn and cooked it in microwave for 1 1/2 minutes.
3.Onions-2
Ginger garlic paste-1 tbsp
Green chillies -3-4
Chilli Powder-3/4-1 tsp
Pepper Powder-1 tsp
Garam Masala-1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil-1 1/2 tbsps
Heat oil and sauté the chopped onions,green chillies,salt and ginger garlic paste till onions are translucent.Add in the masalas and sauté on low heat till Masalas cooked.Set aside to cool.
In a bowl add in the mashed beans,potato,green peas,corn,bread crumbs,chopped coriander leaves onion mixture and salt and mix.Divide this into 8-10 balls and press it in your hands to make round patties .Keep the patties in refrigerator for 15-30 minutes.
4.Bread crumbs-as required
All purpose flour-4-5 tbsps
Corn flour-2 tbsps
Salt a pinch
Water as required
Make a slurry by adding enough water to both the flours and salt.
Now dip each bean patties in the slurry and dust it with bread crumbs.Repeat with the remaining patties.U can freeze it individually by placing them with some gap in between on trays lined with parchment paper .Freeze them until frozen.Then store them in containers or freezer bags in the freezer.
Remove and Thaw the patties as required .Shallow fry the patties in oil ,ina frying pan,until browned on both sides.
To make burgers,slice the burger buns and spread mayonnaise and ketchup on the inside and place sliced onions,tomato and lettuce leaves.Place a Bean Patties over it and a cheese slice.Top with the other piece of bun.Bean Patty Burger 🍔 is ready to serve.
