Chocolate Oreo Cake

Chocolate Oreo Cake

For the cake I used my

Chocolate cake-3 recipe

1.All purpose flour-1 1/2 cup

Cocoa powder-1/2 cup

Baking soda-1 1/4 tsp

Salt-1/4 tsp

Sieve together thrice and set aside.

2.Refined oil-2/3 Cup

Eggs-2

Yoghurt-1 1/4 cup

Granulated Sugar-1 1/4 cup

Vanilla essence-1 tsp

Powder the sugar and add the remaining above ingredients to it and beat together for 2-3 minutes.

Now add the set aside dry ingredients and mix in gently.Pour it into an 8” round pan and bake in a preheated oven at 180 C until a skewer inserted at the center comes out clean. If you want a good height for the cake bake it in two 5” round pans.

For Oreo Frosting

3.Oreos-25

Whipping cream-2 cups

Granulated Sugar-2-3 tbsps (Adjust to your taste as Oreos are sweet)

Vanilla essence-1 tsp

Pour the whipping cream into a steel bowl and place it into the freezer for 15 minutes along with the whipping blades of the beater.

Crush 10 Oreos finely.Chop remaining Oreos to 1/4 inch pieces.Set aside.

Add the granulated sugar and vanilla to the cooled cream and whip it until stiff peaks form.Now add the set aside Oreos and fold in.

Assembling of the cake

4.Simple Syrup-1/2 Cup

I used Passion fruit juice instead.

Cut the cake into two slices and place some cream on the board and spread it.Place one layer over this .Brush the cake with sugar syrup and place 1/4 th of the Oreo frosting over this and spread evenly with a palate knife.

Place the second layer of cake over this and spread the Oreo frosting over the top and sides.Place this in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

For Chocolate drips

5.Dark/Semi Sweet Chocolate-100 gm

Chop the chocolate into small pieces and microwave it for 30 seconds bursts for twice or thrice till it’s melted.Pour this into a plastic Cone placed on a glass and once all the chocolate is transferred seal the open end securely with a rubber band.

Now remove the cooled cake and smoothen the sides and top using the palate knife.Cut the edge of the cone and pipe the chocolate onto the edges of the cake allowing it to drip through the sides.Smoothen the top of the chocolate carefully with the palate knife.

Remove the chunks of Oreos from the remaining frosting and fill this into a piping bag with the flower nozzle attached to it.Pipe 15-16 small flowers on the top and place a mini Oreo at the center of each flower. If you don’t have small Oreos,pipe 7-8 big flowers and top with big Oreos.Decorate as you like. I added some melted chocolate in the center and piped some more flowers around it and placed the Oreos on top.

Note:U can make a ganache and use it for making drips on the cake
