Soya Chilli Dry
For the batter to coat and fry
1.Corn flour-1 tbsp
Maida-1 1/2 tbsps
Salt to taste
Pepper powder-1/4 tsp
Chilli powder-1/4 tsp
Egg -1/2
Soya Chunks-1 cup
Boil 2-3 cups of water and add the 1 cup Soya chunks to it.Cover and leave it to soak in hot water for half an hour.Drain excess water, and clean well in normal water twice and then squeeze and remove any excess water in it .
Add all the above ingredients mentioned for the batter to the cooked soyas till well coated.(You won’t need any extra water as such).Deep Fry the soya chunks till golden and set aside.
Note: If you don’t want to add the eggs just omi it and use some water instead.
For the gravy
2.Onion cubed-1 big
Capsicum cubed-1/2
Garlic chopped-3 big
ginger chopped -2 tsp
soya sauce-1 tbsp
tomato ketchup-2 tbsps
green chilli sauce -1 tbsp
chilly garlic sauce-1 tbsp
Chilli powder-1/4-1/2 tsp
pepper -1/4 tsp
sugar -1 tsp
Salt to taste
Remove excess oil and saute garlic and ginger until aromatic and slightly browned .Add the cubed onions and capsicum and saute, but not much as we need it to be crisp.Now add the chilli & pepper powders and sauté on low heat.Now add all the sauces and mix well. Adjust salt and sugar .
Coat the soya pieces in sauce.Soya Chilli Dry is ready
Note:For the gravy version,dissolve 2 tbsps of cornflour in 1/4 cup water and add to the above sauces and once this thickens a bit add the set aside fried soyas and stir in.
