Shakshuka


Shakshuka is an easy breakfast or brunch recipe made with eggs that are gently poached in a simmering mixture of tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, and garlic. A few warm spices and some fresh herbs complete this satisfying one-skillet dish!

Traditional shakshuka originally came from North Africa--Tunisia is said to be its place of birth--but it is quite popular in the Middle East and you'll find variations of it in every middle eastern country.

Shakshuka Recipe

1.Onion-1 big

Garlic-3-4 big

Capsicum -1

Green Chillies -2-3

Olive oil-2 tbsps

Sauté all the above ingredients chopped in oil till tender .

2.Chilli flakes-3/4 tsp

Chilli powder-1/2 tsp

Coriander powder-3/4 tsp

Cumin powder-1/2 tsp

Pepper powder-1/2 tsp

Add in all the above masalas and sauté till raw smell vanishes.

3.Tomatoes-3 large

Salt to taste

Add the chopped tomatoes and salt and cover and cook till the tomatoes are mushy (around 10 minutes).Cook till the sauce is thickened a little bit.

4.Eggs-5

Mint leaves-1/4 cup

Parsley leaves-few

Basil leaves-5-6

Make some wells/indentations in the chunky shakshuka sauce and crack an egg in each of the wells .Cover and cook till the egg whites are settled (shakshuka eggs are supposed to be runny), but if you like the eggs to be hard, you can cook it a little bit more.Off the stove and
