Prawns Pickle
1.Prawns-1 kg
Turmeric powder-1 /2 tsp
Chilli powder-2 tsp
Jeera powder-1 tsp
Salt to taste
Marinate the prawns with the above ingredients for 1/2 an hour.
2.ginger-1" piece
Garlic-1 pod
Green Chillies-10
Curry leaves-2-3 sprigs
Mustard seeds-2 tsp
Chop the ginger ,garlic & green Chillies separately.
Deep fry the marinated prawns in coconut oil/sesame oil in 3-4 batches & set aside.
3.turmeric powder-1 tsp
Chilli powder-4 tsps
Salt to taste
Vinegar-1/2 cup
In a cheenachatti pour 4-5 tbsps of oil which was used for frying the prawns.Splutter the mustard.Add the curry leaves then the chopped ginger & garlic .once this starts to brown add the green Chillies .Once it's fried add the masalas dissolved in water to this & cook till oil seperates .
Add the vinegar & salt & 1/4 cup water .Once boiled through off the stove .Let this cool for a while.Now add the fried prawns to this & mix in.
Once cooled,store in glass jars.
