Prawns Masala
1.Prawns-1 kg
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Chilli powder-1 tsp
Lime juice of a lime
Salt to taste
Clean the prawns and devein it.Marinate the prawns with all the above ingredients for 1/2 an hour .
2.Onion-1 big
Shallots-5-6
Ginger-1” piece
Garlic-4-5 big
Green chilies-4-5
Curry leaves-2 sprigs
Coconut oil-2 tbsps
Coconut slices-1/2 cup
Heat oil and fry the coconut till it starts to brown (I forgot to fry it today and added along with onions ).Now add the curry leaves then the chopped ginger & garlic and sauté for a minute or two.Now add the chopped onions and shallots and the green chilies and sauté till onions are translucent.
3.Turmeric Powder-1/2 tsp
Chilli powder-1 1/4 tsp
Pepper powder-1 tsp
Garammasala-3/4 tsp
Tomatoes-2 big
Vinegar-1 tsp
Add all the above masalas and sauté on low heat for a few minutes.Add the chopped tomatoes and sauté Add 1/4 cup of water and cook till the tomatoes are mushy and oil separates.
Now add the set aside marinated prawns and vinegar and cook (uncovered) till the prawns are cooked .Adjust the seasonings and cook till the gravy coats the prawns well.Prawns
Masala is ready to Serve with some hot rice.
