Pindi & Payar Thoran
1.Pindi-1 1/2cup(chopped)
Salt to taste
Remove the outer covers of the Pindi till you get the solid innermost part.Cut it into circles and pull the fibers using fingers and discard it from each round after cutting into circles.Now Chop this circles into small pieces and pressure cook it for a whistle with 2 tbsps of water & salt to taste .
2.Cherupayar/Green gram-1/4 cup
Soak this with enough water for 5 hours or overnight.Pressure cook this for a whistle by adding the soaked water and without adding salt .
3.Mustard seeds-1 tsp
Urad dal-1 tsp
Dry Red Chilies-2
Curry leaves-2 sprigs
Onion-1
Garlic-2 big
Green chilies-3-4
Coconut oil-1 tbsp
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Coconut grated-1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Heat oil and splutter the mustard seeds.Add the urad dal & cook till browned.Now Add the red chilies and curry leaves . Then add the chopped onions, garlic and green chilies and sauté for a minute or two.
Add the turmeric powder and sauté.Now Add the coconut grated and the cooked Cherupayar & Pindi to this & cook till all the water dries up .Pindi & Cherupayar Thoran is ready to Serve with hot rice.
