Cook the soaked Dal with enough water often removing the foam coming on top.Once it starts to boil, cook the dal on medium heat, checking often sothat it doesnt overcook/become mash. When the Dal is done, add the pressure cooked chana dal & filtered jaggery water to this. When the water reduces little bit add 2cups second milk of 2 coconuts. When this reduces add the cooked sago to this-use only what u require to thicken the payasam.when this starts to boil, reduce heat & add 1cup first milk[thick milk] to this.Continue stirring, till just heated & add cardamom pwdr & fried nuts &all & off the stove.Once cooled if its too thick, u can add some boiled water to loosen it.
Note: If u don't get fresh coconut,u can use Eastern Coconut Milk which comes in tins or use Maggi/QBB coconut milk pwdr.
