Orange Semolina Cake

Orange Semolina Cake šŸ° šŸŠ

1.Chiroti Rava/Semolina Flour-160 gm(1 cup)

Orange juice-150 ml

Soak the semolina/rava in orange juice for 30 minutes.

2.Almond flour-30 gm(1/4 cup)

All purpose flour-100 gm(3/4 cup)

Baking powder-2 tsp

Salt-1/2 tsp

Sieve this together thrice and set aside.

3.Unsalted Butter-200 gm

Granulated Sugar-220gm (1 cup)

Cream together the room temperature butter and sugar with an electric beater till fluffy and creamy . I used only 180 gm sugar today and the cake was mildly sweet.

4.Eggs-4 large

(I used 3 eggs & 1/4 cup yoghurt instead)

Vanilla essence-1 tsp

Orange zest- of 2 oranges

Orange juice-2-3 tbsps

Add the eggs one by one and cream till well combined.Now add in the vanilla ,the orange zest and the soaked semolina orange juice mixture and beat in. (I added the yoghurt after the eggs and beat in).

5.Silvered Almonds-1/4 cup

Now add the flour mixture in 2 batches and then the orange juice in between and gently fold in with the spatula .Pour this into a 7x7ā€ square tin lined with parchment paper and level the top evenly with a spatula.Sprinkle silvered Almonds on top and bake in a preheated oven at 180 C for 30-40 minutes.Mine took exactly 30 minutes to bake.U can check it when the aroma of baked cakes come or after 27 minutes and adjust the baking time as it may vary from oven to oven and the pan you are using. Your cake is done when a skewer inserted at the center comes out clean and top is slightly browned .

After 10 minutes remove the cake from the pan and place it on a wire rack to cool it completely.Cut the cake only when itā€™s cooled completely.Orange Semolina Cake is ready.
