Orange Cake (with butter )š§ š
1.All purpose flour-1 1/2 cup
Baking powder -1 1/2 tsp
Salt -1/2 tsp
Nutmeg-a pinch
Sieve this together thrice and keep aside.
2.Unsalted butter-1/2 cup(113 gm or 1 stick)
Sugar granules-1 cup
Powder the sugar & cream together with the room temperature butter with the beater till light & fluffy.
3.Eggs-2
Vanilla/Orange Essence-1 tsp
Milk-2 tbsps
Orange juice-1/2 cup. Orange zest-2 tbsps Add the eggs one by one & beat.Now add the vanilla/orange essence.Fold in the set aside sieved flour mixture and orange juice & milk in 2-3 batches starting & ending with flour.
Do not over mix .The desired batter should fall like a ribbon when it falls from a height.
Pour the batter into a cake tin lined with parchment paper & tap the tin 2-3 times sothat any air trapped in could escape.bake in a preheated oven at 180 C for 30-35 minutes or until a skewer inserted at the center comes out clean.I baked this in an 8ā square pan and was done in exactly 30 minutes.
