Naadan Kozhi Piralan
1.Chicken-1 kg (cut into medium pieces)
Coconut oil-2 tbsps
Onions-2 big
Curry leaves-2 sprigs
Heat oil in a kadai and sauté the curry leaves and sliced onions till glossy.
2.Ginger-1/2” piece
Garlic-6-8
Whole pepper-3/4 tsp
Fennel seeds-1 tsp
Cardamom -5
Cloves-4
Shallots-5-6
Curry leaves-1 sprig
Green Chillies-3-4
Grind together all the above ingredients to a smooth paste.Add the ground paste and sauté well for 2-3 minutes.
3.Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Chilli powder-1 tbsp
Coriander powder-2 tbsps
Add the above masalas and sauté for 2-3 minutes.Add 2 tbsps water so that the masalas don’t burn.
4.Potato-1 big
Coconut vinegar-2 tbsps
Salt to taste
Garam Masala-1/4 tsp
Coriander leaves-few
Now add the cut potato chunks and the chicken,vinegar and salt Mix well and add 1/2 cup water. Cover and cook on medium heat until the chicken is fully cooked .Add the Garam masala and cook till the gravy is thick.Off the stove and add the chopped coriander leaves.Nadan Kozhi Piralan is ready to serve with rice or chappathis.
