Meen Mutta/Fish Eggs Thoran

Meen Mutta (Fish eggs)Thoran getting ready


1.Meen Mutta-1/2 cup

Turmeric powder-a pinch

Chilli powder-a pinch

Salt to taste

I used Sardines eggs.U can use any fish eggs big or small .Marinate the eggs with all the above ingredients for 20 minutes.

2.Shallots-6/Onion-1

Garlic-3

Green Chilli-2

Curry leaves-a sprig

Mustard seeds-1/4 tsp

Coconut oil-1/2 tbsp

Splutter the mustard seeds in hot oil.Add all the above ingredients chopped & sauté till onions turn glossy .

3.Turmeric powder-a pinch

Chilli powder-a pinch

Coriander powder-a pinch(optional)

Coconut grated-1/4 cup

Salt to taste

Add the masalas in medium heat and cook for a minute.Now Add the marinted fish eggs, and coconut grated and 2 tbsps water to this and cover and cook till done. Adjust salt.Meen Mutta Thoran is ready to serve with some hot rice.

Note

If you are using big eggs,just break them with the spatula once it's cooked and u may require more water to cook them
