Masala Poori


Masala Poori

1.Wheat flour-1 cup

Oats flour-1/2 cup

Besan-1/4 cup

Semolina-3 tbsp

Salt to taste

Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp

Chilli powder-3/4 tsp

Coriander powder-3/4 tsp

Asafoetida-1/4 tsp

Ajwain(Carrom seeds)-1/2 tsp

Kasoori Methi-1 tbsp

Sugar-1/2 tsp

Put all the above ingredients in a bowl.Slightly crush the kasoori methi with your hands,before adding .Mix together.

2.Oil-1 tbsp

Lukewarm milk+water-1/2 cup+ 2 tbsps (as required)

Add in the oil and milk & water mixture and knead a stiff dough.Cover and set aside for 20-30 minutes.

Make small balls around 20-23 and roll it out with flour ,till all the dough is used up.

Heat oil in a kadai and fry the Poori in hot oil ,slightly pressing it with the back of a slotted ladle till it puffs up.Flip over the Poori and cook for a few seconds till it attains light golden color.Drain on tissues.Masala Poori is ready to serve with Potato Masalas.

Notes:

1.If you aren’t adding kasoori methi, then omit the sugar mentioned.Sugar will cut down the bitterness of Kasoori methi .

2.U can add fresh coriander leaves finely chopped instead of kasoori methi.

3.U can add 1/4 tsp each crushed cumin and 1/4 tsp Garam masala too

4.Adding Semolina gives crispyness to the fried Poori’s.
