Marble Cake
1.All purpose flour-1 1/2 cup
Baking powder -1 1/2 tsp
Salt -1/2 tsp
Nutmeg-a pinch
Sieve this together thrice and keep aside.
2.Unsalted butter-1/2 cup(113 gm or 1 stick)
Sugar granules-1 cup
Powder the sugar & cream together with the room temperature butter with the beater till light & fluffy. 3.Eggs-2
Vanilla Essence-1 tsp
Milk-1/2 cup
Add the eggs one by one & beat.Now add the vanilla .Fold in the set aside sieved flour mixture and milk in 2-3 batches starting & ending with flour. Do not over mix .The desired batter should fall like a ribbon when it falls from a height.
4.Cocoa powder-2 tbsps
Milk-2 tbsps
Now pour half of the batter into another bowl and add the cocoa powder directly sieved into it -to remove any lumps in it.Add in the milk and fold in till well mixed.
Pour a ladle of the vanilla batter to the cake tin lined with parchment paper,followed by a ladle of cocoa batter over it ,until all the batter is used up.Now using a skewer,make lines from the center to the end of the pan to get a flower/spider design .Now
tap the tin 2-3
times sothat any air trapped in could escape.bake in a preheated oven at 180 C for 30-40 minutes or until a skewer inserted at the center comes out clean.Marble Cake is ready.
