Mango Semiya/Vermicelli Payasam

Mango Semiya Payasam (Serves-3 people)

1.Vermicelli-1/2 cup

Ghee-1 tbsp

Cashews-4-5

Raisins-6-8

Heat Ghee & fry The cashews and raisins and keep aside. In the same ghee Fry 1/2 cup semiya on low heat till browned.

2.Milk-2 cups(500 ml)

Sugar-1/4-1/2 cup(depends on how sweet your mango is)

Cardamom-2

Add 2 cups milk and cook till semiya is cooked.Now Add 1/4-1/2 cup (adjust according to your sweetness level) and allow it to boil.Add cardamoms crushed to this and let it simmer for 5 minutes .Off the stove and add a pinch of salt to this and the set aside fried cashews and raisins mix well.Set aside to cool.

3.Mango-1 cup

Once cooled add the mango puréed to this and mix well.(Adjust sugar )

Mango Semiya Payasam is ready.Serve it chilled.

Note:Make sure you add the mango purée only when the Payasam is cooled otherwise it might curdle.
