Mango Parfait .....an easy dessert which can be customized with whatever you have in your pantry
Mango Parfait Recipe
1.For the custard
Milk-2 cups
Eggs-2
Sugar-1/2 cup
Custard powder-1 tsp
Vanilla essence-1 tsp
Beat the eggs and sugar with a whisk..Stir in 1 1/2 cups of milk and bring this to boil on low heat continuously stirring..Meanwhile Add the custard powder to the remaining 1/2 cup milk and stir in.Once the custard begins to boil add the custard milk mixture to this and cook till the mixture thickens.Remove and stir in the vanilla essence.Set this aside to cool.
Note:For an eggless custard,use 2 tbsps of custard powder and avoid the eggs.
2.Oreo biscuits-8-10
Crush this and place it into the bottom of the 6 glass/plastic bowls as the first layer.Refrigerate this for 10 minutes.
(U can use any cream biscuits or even cake pieces for this.)
3.For jelly
Make the jelly according to the package instructions the day before so that it sets.
(U can use sliced mixed nuts instead.)
4.Mango-3
Purée a mango with 2 tbsps of sugar and 1/4 cup water.Chop the remaining 2 mangoes into small pieces.
Pour 2 tbsps of mango purée over the chilled biscuit layer as the second layer.
Now add 1/4 cup of the cooled custard mixture as the third layer.Now top with chopped mangoes.Chill this until the custard is set.Decorate with jelly pieces and serve.
Mango Parfait is ready to Serve
