Homemade Kunafah Dough

Kunafa Dough

1.All purpose flour-1 cup

Corn flour-1/2 cup

Canola oil-2 tbsps (use any vegetable oil instead)

Salt-3/4 tsp

Water-1 1/4 cup

Mix all the above ingredients in a bowl.Strain this mixture through a filter/siever.

Take an half litre mineral water bottle.Make 2 or 3 holes on the lid of the bottle with a toothpick or compus needle.

Pour this batter into this bottle and close the lid.Heat a flat tava preferably nonstick and gently squeeze the bottle so that the batter flows into the pan.Make thin circles or lines, so that they don’t overlap-as shown in pictures. The batter will take only a few seconds to cook. It shouldn’t crisp up.Remove to a plate and repeat till all the batter is used up.

U will get around 300 gm of Kunafa dough with this recipe.

Note:On the first try the batter might fall as thin circles instead of thin lines. After the second try you will succeed, knowing how to squeeze the bottle and turn to get thin lines.

U can slice any thick dough u got with a scissors.

U can store the cooked dough in the fridge for few days and freeze it for a month.Defrost the dough before using.
