Chilli Fish


Chilli Fish (Recipe )

For marination

1.Fish-6 pieces

Chilli powder-3/4 tsp

Pepper powder-1/2 tsp

Soya sauce-1/2 tbsp

Salt to taste

Wash & drain the fish pieces.Add the Chilli and pepper powders,soya sauce and salt and mix in.Keep this in fridge for atleast 1/2 an hour.

2.Eggs-1/2

Cornflour-1 tbsps

All purpose flour-2 tbsps

Add the eggs to the marinated chicken & mix well.Now add the cornflour & maida(Apf) to this & mix in.If there is more of the liquid content i.e. the batter is runny & not well coated in the fish you can add more of the flours & adjust sothat the chicken is well coated with flours.

Once the flour is added,you should immediately fry the fish pieces.Heat oil & deep fry thefish till golden & drain on tissues.

For the gravy

3.Ginger-1 tbsp(chopped)

Garlic-1 tbsp(chopped)

Spring Onion-2 (optional)

Heat 1 tbsps oil in a nonstick kadai . Add the chopped spring onion,ginger and garlic and sauté.

4.Chilli powder-1/2-3/4 tsp

Pepper powder-1/2 tsp

Green Chilli-2

Add the above ingredients and saute till the raw smell of the masalas vanish.

5.Chilli garlic sauce-1 tbsp

Thai Chilli sauce-1 tbsp

Soya sauce-1 tbsps

Water-1/4 cup +2 tbsps

Cornflour-1 tsp

Onion-1

Capsicum-1/2

Add 1/4 cup water and and let this come to boil.Now add all the sauces and allow it to simmer for few minutes .Now add the onion ,capsicum and fried fish pieces. Add the cornflour dissolved in 2 tbsps water to this & cook till the fish is well coated with the gravy . Adjust the salt and add 1/2 tsp sugar to balance the flavors.Decorate with chopped green parts of spring onions .

Serve with fried rice or nan

Note:

This is a dry gravy.If you want more gravy you increase the amount of water from 1/4 to 1 cup and also use 1 tsp Chilli and 3/4 tsp pepper powder.
