Beef Chops
This was one of my moms special & all her kids favorite which goes well with chappathis/porottas.
1.Beef-1/2 kg
Onions-2 (thickly sliced)
Oil-2 tbsp
Cut off any fats in the beef.U can use the beef as a whole single piece or 5-6 medium pieces.heat the oil in a cheenachatti & add the beef pieces/ whole single piece & fry often turning on medium heat.When it starts to brown add the sliced onions and fry till it's nicely and evenly browned on all sides. This might take 1/2 an hour.Now ur chatti might look like a horror story.Need not panic. Remove the beef into a plate and let it cool. Now pour 2 cups of water to the chatti and boil it ;often pouring spoon full of water to the sides were its browned.
2.onion-1
Ginger-1 " piece
Garlic-1/2 pod
Green chillies-6
Slice the onion.chop the ginger & garlic.Slit the chillies. Heat a pressure cooker & Saute
3.Cloves-6
Cardamom-6
Cinnamon-1" stick broken
Add the onion, garlic,ginger & chillies & Saute.
4.freshly ground black pepper-2 tsp (if you don't want to spicy reduce it to 11/2 tsp)
Cabbage-1 cup (sliced)
Salt to taste
Meanwhile if u have browned the beef as a single piece slice into medium pieces.and it's center might look rose color & under cooked.
Add the browned beef and onions & the water boiled in the brown/black cheenachatti to this. Add the sliced cabbage & salt to taste .pressure cook this for 2-3 whistles or till done.
