Idli/White rice(raw rice)-1kg
Coconut(scraped)-2 no.'s
Cumin jeera-1tbsp
Salt-to taste
Wash rice & soak the rice for 30 minutes.Drain the rice and spread it on a clean sheet to remove excess water.Then powder it in the small jar of your mixie or chopper in batches.Remove to a vessel.Add salt,jeera & coconut scraped & mix in an urali or big wok. U can pulse in a mixie or chopper the grated coconut into small and then add to the rice powder .Let this mixture rest for half an hour. In the beginning use medium heat to dry roast this .Once the molsture content reduces you can increase the flames.Adjust the flames in between and dry roast this till it's light golden brown.(Keep on stirring. Make sure not to burn it).
Once it’s evenly browned,remove from stove and set this aside to come to room temperature.Store this Avalosupodi in containers .
Take some Avalosupodi in a bowl and sprinkle some sugar and eat .Or you can add some mashed/cut banana to it and eat .
