Jam Cookies/Thumbprint Cookies
1.Butter-100 gm(softened)
Sugar-1/2 cup
Cream together till fluffy
2. Egg-1
Vanilla essence-1/2 tsp
Add & beat again
3.all purpose flour-1 1/2 cup
Add in small portions and beat in.once all the flour is used up,if it's very soft keep refrigerated for 10-20 minutes.
4. Sugar -1/2 cup
Red color-1 drop
Corn flour-1 tsp
In a zipper/ plastic bag put the sugar and add a drop of color (use the color of your choice) and rub it in. Add the corn flour and mix to get a non sticky sugar.U can simply use white sugar also.
5.Cherry /any jam of your choice as required
Make balls and flatten it.Dip in the colored/white sugar the top side of the cookies.Place in parchment paper and make a well in the middle of the cookies by simply pressing your thumb on it.Add 1/2 tsp jam in the hole and bake in a preheated oven at 180 C for 10-12 minutes until golden brown on the bottom.
