Garlic pull apart bread flavored with Chilli flakes ,thyme and parsley-the pillowy soft bread and it's aroma.....
Recipie
1.Milk(warm to touch)-3/4 cup
Sugar-2 tbsp
Instant Yeast-2 tsp
In a bowl add the warm milk,sugar & yeast.Stir to dissolve the sugar.
2.All purpose flour-2 cups+ 2 tbsp for dusting
Salt-1 tsp
Milk powder-1 1/2 tbsp
Fresh cream-5 tsp(I used 3 tsp thick cream & 1 tbsp garlic dip[store bought ]instead to get more garlic flavor ).
Add all the above ingredients to the yeast mixture and mix to form a sticky dough(as shown in the picture).If it's not sticky add some extra warm water/ milk(1-2 tbsp).
Now remove the dough to counter top & knead for 10 minutes until it's not sticky anymore .
3.Olive oil-1 tbsp
Add to the dough & knead for another 3-4 minutes till the oil is incorporated into the dough.Now the dough will be smooth.Oil the dough & bowl & place the dough in it well covered to double.
For the flavored oil
4.oil-4 tbsp
Garlic-1 tbsp
Thyme-1/2 tsp
Parsley -1/2 tsp
Chilli flakes-1 tsp
Chilli powder-a pinch
Salt -1 tsp
In a pan heat oil.Add the chopped garlic & lower the flame.once it starts to change color,add thyme & salt.Off the stove & add both the Chillies & parsley(I used dried parsley).Set this aside to cool.
Once doubled(around 1 -1 1/2 hours) punch the dough & roll it into a rectangle with the rolling pin dusting with flour sothat it doesn't stick to the countertop.With a brush add half of the flavored oil on the dough.
Roll it tightly into a log.Cut the log 1/2" discs.Now place this in two loaf pans or cake tray lined with buttered paper & also oiled,leaving space for the dough to rise.
Cover with cling wrap or butter paper & allow it to double.Once doubled brush the top of the dough with the flavored oil & bake in a preheated oven at 200 C for 20-30 minutes or until top is golden & aroma of freshly baked bread emanates.Mine was ready in 20 minutes .This may vary with the size of the pan & oven
